Tunnel to Towers Run

Has anyone done it before? How far into the race is the uphill slant in the tunnel?

And, if you're going from park slope, is it easiest just to take the 9th avenue bus until you're close to the starting line, or is the traffic pattern painful enough to hop the subway?

Thanks!

Hey there! The bad uphill slant is a little over the halfway point. It's a pretty high energy event so you may not feel as drained when you reach it. The train worked out pretty well for us last year. We took the F and got off at Carroll.

Hopefully it won't rain on us this year!

Thanks! I live in fear of the hill. The one in the park kicks my butt every time.

It is not that bad of run it is only a 5k, the only thing that can be rough is the tunnel does not provide a lot of fresh air. Normally I push hard through the tunnel and take it a little easier when I come out to set up for a hard push at the end. It is a slight incline for a decent portion of the tunnel but it is not as hard as either the Brooklyn bridge or the Manhattan bridge inclines!
