i agree. this could be cool. i love the idea of a "men's general store."

Very good, I had to go to target just to buy a shirt.

I miss the men's clothing story where the Haagan-Dazs is on 7th and Union.

Oh, I remember that place! Seems like a million years ago, but, yeah, I used to shop in there for hubby too. now the only place to go around here is Square Stores on 5th Avenue and 8th Street, glad to hear about something else

LongTimeSloper..... just how how long?? Do you remember an Al's Candy STore on 3rd St. and 7th? I'm going way back here....just curious...thanks

fyi we set up "Brooklyn Back When" a whole board for the old-timey stuff, which appears to be wildly popular with former Bklyn residents

AFAIK, Al's was not a candy store at all. It was a toy store when I moved to 2nd Street in 1981, and for many years thereafter.

Thanks a lot ....I just checked it out. Never dreamed I'd be connected to that phrase "old timey stuff"..hahaha.....geez I feel old!!
