Recently I recieved a letter from food town regarding shopping online.
I wanted to know if anyone else has tried this service and if so what do they think of it.

I'd be interested to know too. If it works out I can stop my personal campaign against Fresh Direct until they deliver around here.

On Thursday I picked up my order with no probelms. they also delive. www.foodtown.com
the first three orders are free. after that there is a 9.99 charge
I found this service very good for items that you don't have time to go and pick up like, water, paper towel, washing detergent, etc

I've done internet shopping with D'agastino in Park Slope (they deliver to us!). How did the Foodtown one work out? Do they deliver?

I used the Foodtown service for the first time this week I ordered late Wednesday night for a Thursday afternoon delivery. I wanted to give it a real test so I ordered everything from dry goods like pasta to fruits and meat.
I got a call from my shopper in the morning to let me know what they were out of and if I was okay with her suggestions for replacements, which I was.
The delivery came right on time, the delivery man was very nice.
The quality of the fresh food was great (better than if I picked it myself), the prices were good, and the ease of the whole process was great. I have used other web sites for shopping that were easier to use, but the foodtown site not a bad one. I think even if Fresh Direct did deliver in CH I would use the foodtown service over them.
