Tasti D-lite doesn't taste that good. As far as neighborhood ambiance goes, that might be marginally better than a T-Mobile store though.

Probably much easier to digest, though.

Surprisingly (and while -I'm not exactly sure what is in tasti d), it, unlike most fro yos and light ice creams, doesn't have any corn products in it!

I'm not so sure about that:

(read down to "What's in Tasti D-Lite?)

The ingredients list is neither lengthy nor terrible.

I'll say it. I like Tasti D-Lite. It fills a niche in my life.

When it's warm out and I'm out and about a lot, I crave some ice-cream at least once a day. If I got the real thing everyday, well we all know that eating a big double scooper from an ice cream shop isn't great for you :) But, I can get a small treat for cooling off at Tasti D without the calorie overload. I'm not saying this product and ice cream are that interchangeable, but the cold slightly sweet treat is what I'm after.

    also not free of corn:
Vanilla dairy base made with all-natural ingredients: water, nonfat milk, sugar, corn syrup, cream, guar gum, locust bean gum, carrageenan, vanilla, lactase.

I have clearly fallen victim to believing what I read on my favorite blogs. http://www.seriouseats.com/2009/07/my-week-without-corn-agriculture-health-environment.html

This article on seriouseats.com discusses eating for a week without corn products and the author writes that a pamphlet in the TastiD store did not list corn syrup. Hmhm........ Froyo is so suspect anyway. Who know what's in there. Just get some gelato.
