thinking of moving in

Hi all,
I lived on Franklin and Prospect three years ago and now am thinking about moving back to the neighbourhood.
I've been looking at an apartment on Nostrand between Prospect and Park, middle of the block, west side of the street. I never really ventured to Nostrand when I lived in Crown Heights before, so I was wondering if y'all could tell me about the block.

crown heights is a nice community but when it comes to nostrand i tend to never venture off to prospect , bergen pacific , and st marks...its all good in the morning but at night , be careful , alot of shady characters on nostrand , nostrand is a very live street

I walk there day and night and Its all good. get to know the people with the buisinesses and you're great. The drug boys on the corners are on the way out. Plus I walk my dogs there and the idiots know if they talk shit they get bit.

So i guess that corner's still hot then, eh? Funny, I walked down the av from the A train to Eastern Parkway and my spidey sense only went off at Dean...
Noticed a lot of business that weren't there back when I moved out.
Is the laundromat down the avenue OK, or would i be better off at my old spot on Franklin and Prospect?

Re: drug boys- I figure if I don't do business with them, I should be allright?

Yeah, a couple nods never hurt, just to let them know you know them and they know you. And dont forget to check out Franklin park. on St. john & Franklin.

I would do NYA or Brooklyn Ave over Nostrand about 1000 times out of 1000

Nostrand is a zoo, respectively. Though I would say it quiets down a lot once all the businesses close.

I live on Bergen off of Nostrand and haven't had any problems. That laundromat on pacific/nostrand is great, usually pretty crowded but gets the job done. i also want to recommend everyone to island bubbles which is on rogers and park. they have free wifi and their drop off is super speedy and high quality.

Nostrand and Park is one of the major crack spots on Nostrand still. one of the known dealers Shot a guy in the Head about 2 months ago, 20yds off the corner. Another shooting on Nostrand and Dean on Tues evening. If u dont wanna be a cross-fire statistic(these animals dont have the best aim) Stay away from Nostrand.

I ended up getting creepy vibes from the landlady and decided to keep on looking.
In other words, the hunt continues...
