Parking Garages in Park Slope?

I have distant relatives attending an event of mine in the Slope, and since I 1) don't live there and 2) don't drive, I have no idea where the local garages or lots are. Can someone please give me some recommendations? The event is on a Sunday afternoon.

Thanks!

It's on 6th ave and 5th st., so anything within a short walk from there is fine.

There's a garage under that tall condo building behind JJ Byrne (4th Ave between 4/5 streets) but I have never seen a car going in or out. I think it's a Car Park garage. I would try looking online or calling and not just count on this one, but the location is right.

or you can just park in front of Pep Boys.

Anyway, there are plenty of spots on a Sunday afternoon,

It has to be a garage or lot. Park Slope parking is notoriously scant, and these are very old people from Jersey, and a lot of them - no driving around and around the block endlessly for them. Please, just garage and lot recs. Thanks.

the one opossum queen mentions is at the NOVO condo.
    343 ? 4th ave between 4th and 5th street. i just walked past it...

as far as walking distance goes, its your best bet.
others i know of are union and 7th ave , union at ppw.
and theres another at the intersection of
8th ave flatbush plaza st in a co op bldg.

IOW - opposom queen nailed it ;)

Perhaps it might be cheaper and easier to arrange a bus from the old folk home in Jersey?

Please, is there any need to be rude?

You can park by the hour in the garage at the Novo. The same management owns the garage under the Crest condos, on 2nd St. at 4th Avenue (enter on 2nd St.). Both are professionally run parking garages.

Someone was being rude and I missed it? Darnit!

If you meant the comment about the old folks home, you're the one who described the people as "very old" in the first place...and you even went as far as to accuse them of being from NEW JERSEY :x :x

Other than that, what others said is true -- parking in a lot at Pep Boys or even Staples would be a steal, but if you can't do that, go with Opossum Queen's recommendation or one of the garages on Union Street. If lots close to the event are full, there are lots of car services and even official yellow cabs that people who can't want much can use.
