SUNDAY FOOTBALL OR SUNDAY BANDS - which would you come to?

I own a new Supperclub in Park Slope/Gowanas -

I want to produce events to that are attractive to the audience in my back yards and front yards and need help to decide what type of Sunday event will people most likely enjoy the most. ](*,)

I have great space for live bands to perform -- My first attempts on band night were pretty successful - and I love bands.

We are also in the football season and I know that people like a good place to come and watch the games --

So which is it - Football or bands:?:

I want to go someplace that has swing dancing. I trek into the city for the New York Swing Dance Society dance once a month but would love to find someplace in Brooklyn, closer to home

Bands. Fuck football, they have enough places to go.

The Mrs. loves to swing dance, but I have no coordination ...which causes her to go to Lincoln Center Summer Swing Sessions to dance with people her father's age.

Your right, you can't do both. JETS banners and Bud Light clocks would ruin the atmosphere.

Football

Actually, very few places in the Slope offer the NFL Sunday ticket. If you were going to lure the football crowds, I would say go full hog and offer the ticket on plenty of screens. If you only want to offer local games, don't expect the crowds.

I know I'm in the minority, but I would LOVE a place where I could take the kid during the day, have some lunch and watch some of the game w/the sound on.

I'd love an alternative to 200 5th. Especially if you also play the basketball games!

I third/fourth/whatever a mix of football and bands. And also second the sunday ticket idea - maybe encourage fans of away teams to come out in groups somehow...

Yeah...you definitely need to focus on teams outside NY. Locals can watch those games on TV. Finding a good place to watch my team (Go PACK!) is tough and the NFL Sunday Ticket on DirecTV is $300. I end up just listening to the games over the interwebs...not ideal but kind of old-timey.

Is this the old space where that short-lived BBQ place was on 6th street?

I think that Rhythm & Booze on 10th Ave/Prospect Ave has the Sunday Ticket package

A good buddy of mine, when he moved to SF 15 years ago, had only one bar in his neighborhood that showed Monday Night Football.

It was the local blue-collar drag queen bar. A bunch of big, burly men in drag. But they all loved football, and as my friend put it, "they put on an excellent halftime show".

I love football, and I *hate* 200 Fifth.

If I could get the vibe of Great Lakes/SouthPaw and Football all in one fell swoop, I'd be all over it (and hell, get bands in for 15-minute halftime-show sets!)

What I'm trying to say with this is: Noone wants a standard sportsbar, filled with the standard set of sport-os. But it would be really nice of one of the more offbeat joints in this neighborhood would actually offer sports to those of us who both like sports and our entertainment offbeat.

What everyone else said. O'Connors has season ticket but they only have 3 tvs and 200 Fifth is unbearable.

I agree with other posters...definitely get the NFL sunday ticket. Would love to have a place to watch Steelers games!

inconsistent service and iirc not exactly set up so i could watch multiple games from a central position.
