Prospect Heights / Crown Heights Musicians?

I'm a percussionist, but lately my musical life (not that I'm complaining) has been instruction and rock-derivative bands and working in the business side.

Well, I don't really know any young musicians (I'm 25) in my area, other than another drummer, but I'd be really interested in meeting any double/upright bass/vocalist/ guitar/saxophone/trumpet etc players that would like to have some accompaniment (Been keeping it light with a snare, hi hat, and brushes right now) . Either to perform in the neighborhood or just play some standards or new arrangements or anything would be fine with me, just sick of playing to records.

-Thanks

How about checking out the Brooklyn Conservatory on Seventh Avenue. They have so many different venues, you may be able to hook up with some musicians there. Also, the Park Slope Food Coop (if you are a member) The Coop has a bulletin board where you can put up an ad. They also have a web site and you can post classifieds. They have the Line Waiters Gazette, which comes out every two weeks. Folks submit ads for a very low fee, offering services, etc.

    Subject: Q train violin

Maybe you could introduce yourself to the guy who plays the violin most mornings at the Q train 7th Ave Stop? He's really excellent.

I play guitar. I'm not gigging, but I've got a handful of songs in the rock/country rock genre and a cursory jazz vocabulary if you're bored sometime.
