reception space near the botanic gardens?

husband and i booked the botanic gardens for a baby naming for the tiny kid on the sunday of memorial day weekend. the crowd is swelling, and it looks like the traditional bagels and lox schmer at the apartment isn't gonna cut it.

anywhere you know where we can either 1) book a space nearby with catering/food, or 2) book a space, and have the food brought in? All I can think of is the Brooklyn society for ethical culture, but closer to the BBG would be swell.

Soda books parties in their back room, and they give you the choice of buying their food or bringing in your own.

The Botanic Gardens & Museum have spaces but they are pricey.

It is not near the botanical gardens, but you may want to try South Oxford Place in Ft Greene. I booked my rehearsal dinner there, and was able to just rent out the room and bring in my own food. And it is reasonable.

Tom's is closed on Sundays. Have they been known to rent out ever, especially on Sunday? That would be awesome.

I once filmed a Wendy's commercial at the Wendy's in the Columbus Zoo (ohio) because that was the only Wendy's that was closed sometimes during the day. Now that I think of it, it was a training video, not a commercial. Wendy's is awesome too. Dave Thomas was an orphan. I wonder who named him?
