Chase bank texting scam

I got a text saying my debit card had been de-activated - with a number to call, which I did. Then they asked me for my card number automatedly. Seemed legit, but it wasn't. It was actually a quite clever scam. Especially because I had just taken about 200 bucks, which I do all the time. Coincedence?

No matter. I called Chase direct and they told me, he told, they were aware of the situation - seems they'd been getting a bunch of calls like that. Which proved there'd been a bunch of texts like that.

Just an FYI.

Always call/email your bank directly if you get a message that you have a problem with you account.

yeah, there is a notice on the Chase website about text messages like this, saw it the other day when i was paying a cc bill. Thanks for the notice though
