Recent Shootings

There seems to be a gathering outside of the Parkside Avenue subway station. Apparently there's been 10 shootings in the last week in the Lefferts Garden area. Has anyone else heard about these shootings? Are they all drug related? I saw some cop presence briefly on Maple yesterday afternoon and a bunch of news trucks were gathered outside the bodega on Parkside this evening to cover another shooting. Are these two occurrences related, you think? Curious to know what my neighbors know or think about this recent activity. What's happening in our neighborhood?

Did some more internet searching and learned the person that died was a talented 18-year-old rollerblader, Brian Scott. You can watch him do his thing here:

Such a sorrowful shame. My heart grows heavy after reading that someone so young was in the wrong place at the wrong time; news reports are saying he was not the intended target. "Mistaken identity." Condolences go to his family and to the community.
