Fave 5th ave brunch south of 3rd Street?

Meeting an old high school friend this weekend. Any good recs for a good brunch on 5th ave below 3rd Street? Belleville is a possibility - Stone Park is lovely but too pricey if you want more than one cocktail. Ideally a place that has reasonable drink prices and solid food, where we wont feel rushed out the door.

getfresh table and market is my favorite place in the neighborhood for brunch.

not sure if they have alcohol though...might want to check on that first. but the food and stumptown coffee are THE BEST!

How about Peppinos? Yummy pizza, pasta and such with cheap beer or wine? 6th ave and 14th? Athena or SlopeBistro? Bar Toto? Otherwise go to Sette on 7th and 3rd. Cheap, good. And as my sometimes drunk friend likes to say, they have all you can drunk drinks.

Definitely gonna ditto the idea for Belleville. Just took family there last weekend for brunch, and we all loved it. Super reasonably priced too.

Not to say the 80's power ballads made the mood or anything, but the food certainly was great for the price.

The french bistro-style was also loverly as well.

Agree with Belleville. Vast improvment over previous years.

I'd actually second the Get Fresh recommendation and disagree with the Belleville, which has always been the epitomy of more popular than it's quality dictates it to be.

Overall, though, I'd say it's slim pickings south of 3rd, unfortunately.

I'm not crazy for Belleville's brunch...and I recently had a very bad experience at dinner...we waited 45 minutes and our entree never came out...we began asking at the 30 minute mark and finally just said we'll pay for our drinks and go. Something was going on in the kitchen because I was noticing that NO food was coming out.
This was the first time this has happened to me there...i will go again, but if the same thing happens, that will be the last time

Sidecar, Get Fresh, Belleville, maybe the Black Horse will be serving brunch?...Perch (ha. just kidding. Perch sucks)

Walk up to 6th and try Bar Toto

Or venture up to 6th Ave @ 11th St. to Bar Toto. Really yummy brunch stuff. But, it's very family oriented, might be a lot of kids there...
