Ate lunch there with my 2 1/2 year old daughter. It was OK. Then daughter told me she had to pee-pee. I asked guy behind counter if she could use the potty. He told me no, they have no bathroom. I said you have no bathroom, period? He said, no, no bathroom for customers. I went next door to nail salon and they said sure, use the bathroom, and all the women in there clucked when I told them the Yummy guy didn't care if my daughter had an accident! FYI...

Why on God's green earth would you EVER eat at Yummy Taco?!?!? Sorry, can't help but be surprised. Do you eat at Happy Fresh Tortilla too?

Glad the nail salon helped you out.

The City accepts reports about any food establishment with 20 or more seats that has no toilet and was established after 1977. These establishments must provide toilets for their patrons. Food establishments that have been in operation since 1977 or before are exempt from this requirement.

Food establishments with 19 or fewer customer seats are not required to provide bathroom access to the public.

Food establishments are not required to allow public access to their employee toilets. Patrons are not permitted to use any toilets where the patron must walk through the kitchen or any food storage or food preparation area.

its a rule for nyc, they can't help it. there are alot of rules on the rule books that doesn't make sense, unless for suing.

That place doesn't have more than 20 seats.

And anyways, big deal. Can't believe you made a post just to say they didn't have a bathroom for customers. It's not really a sit down joint, they have seating for maybe 4 people or something. There are dozens of take-out only places that don't have restrooms for customers.

    this thread is lame

    a eulogy:

although santa left us much too soon

his fond memory will forever remain

one winter in particular, i recall santa's generosity

as he lovingly left me an ill-fitting winter coat

    that simply read "for kevin"

his recall for names was famously horrible

    but

was it not santa who taught us all how to give?

santa leaves behind a wife, his son rudolph, 8 flying reindeer,

children of the world, cookie crumbs, misfit toys, and many elves

I like this thread. Keep up the good work Woodsy. Now instead of not eating at Yummy taco because it looks dirty and disgusting, I won't eat there because they don't provide bathrooms for their customers.

    because legally they can't!!!

Patrons are not permitted to use any toilets where the patron must walk through the kitchen or any food storage or food preparation area.

Settle down there big guy. I don't care WHY they don't provide a bathroom. I just care that they don't.

Not really an issue for me, as I don't eat in pizza places that don't have bathroom.

    Isn't this fun?

well if you dont eat at pizza places without bathrooms why are you arguing? Yummy Taco obviously has no bathroom.

I'm not arguing. You are the one who brought up pizza places. I usually order in from pizza places. Why do you care?

I love how, when I'm using my IPhone while walking by Yummy Taco, I'm alerted as to a nearby wireless network which someone named "Crummy Taco." Has anyone else noticed?

Ha. That's awesome. By me, there is a wireless network called "muff diver". Um. Ok. My neighbor and I were laughing about it one day

This needs to be a new thread about wireless network names. I can tell whose network is whose among my neighbors because they are ALL named after their cats.

What I love about the Crummy Taco network is that, because it's relatively new, someone specifically changed their network name to reflect their disdain for Yummy Taco.

By the way, are we talking about a Mexican restaurant or a strip club?

^am still hoping for a new technology forum on the board. One way or another, people talk about technology.

My wireless network is not named after my cats (and I'm not the muff diver, etiher)

The food at this place is awful - you shouldn't eat there in the first place - I NEVER saw anything worse than the burrito my husband brought home from there one night - it looked like something a starving dog would turn down - and it tasted worse. The taco he bruoght for me I threw away - - but I do agree with this law that a place like this is not required to let people use the rest room facilities - and more than likely you wuoldn't want your daughter using their bathroom much less eat their food - - so thank goodness for the lovely ladies at Sisters Nail Salon for letting your daughter use theirs - you should let your daughter get a manicures there and perhaps you can get one too plus a pedicure - it's a great place - but as for Yummy Taco - avoid it at all costs - you're better buying a can of beans and some rice at the deli and making the food yourself.
