Subject: sprint has many reception problems

I had Sprint some months ago and had A LOT of dropped calls all over Brooklyn especially in Red Hook and Sunset Park. I got NO RECEPTION AT ALL INSIDE MY APARTMENT. I am emphasizing that as a warning since many folks I know had the same issues with Sprint.

I've had AT&T/Cingular for about 7 years and service is generally pretty good

I have Sprint now in Frisco, TX and the service is not good either.. both at home and at work. Glad to know ahead of time it's not good in NYC that way I will not renew my contract in April.

I've had Sprint in Brooklyn for many years and have had no reception problems either in Brooklyn or in Manhattan.

Sprint's portion of the radio spectrum does not penetrate buildings as well as Verizon's, but anywhere there is a window Sprint should have no trouble reaching.

Even where there is a reception problem, such as my daughter's apartment in DC, Sprint will on request provide a free Airrave device which eradicates reception problems.

I am very satsfied with my Sprint service, and have no ties to or stock in the company.

Wow a free Airrave device I will be calling them today because I asked about that and they said I will have to pay $129.00. Thanks for the info!

If you (politely) threaten to switch carriers they will offer an Airrave.

booklaw, it suddenly occurs to me that you are unable to credibly use the expression IANAL when dispensing advice.

jeffery, at least he can say IANAMHP when dispensing advice.

    Some people can't.

Ah yes, I can certainly see how IANAMHP would be prevalent there:

To bring things back on-topic, I hear the Sprint coverage out there in the woods there is terrible as well.

Bjork would be even saner if she had a Sprint Airrave.

As it happens, we're going to Iceland in a few months, for a winter weekend.

Mrs Whynot was there recently and loved the elves and the idea of a glacier on top of a volcano.
