Time Warner Cable sucks

Anyone noticing terrible signal lately?

TW spends all that money putting cute ads on TV with people falling off of their roofs because their dish craps out in the rain. For the last 10 days, my cable has sputtered and frozen as soon as the sprinkles start falling outside. And since it's "digital" (actually most of it is simply digitized analog signals), instead of seeing picture with snow and interference, you just get lock-ups. When I had my dish, it never went out unless there was a noreaster coming through. What a joke.

My friends who live on Berkeley Place had the same issue last winter. My neighbor upstairs has also been complaining recently though my signal is fine now.

I had a TWC employee come round last summer saying that they were trying to reinstall a lot of the boxes connecting the spaghetti behind the brownstones. Apparently they were installed upside down with the cover on the bottom. He said the cover was supposed to protest the coaxial connections from precipitation and freeze/thaw issues. Unfortunately, the upside down covers serve as precipitation collectors. Maybe that's part of your problem.

mine sucks too. It was installed just over a week ago (shitty job I might add). I stopped working the same night, so I called and they said April 15th was the earliest they could come back out! I was able to use it all of an hour, and will have to wait HALF A MONTH to get it fixed!

Mine's been working ok, but they have problems periodically.

If you call tech support, they'll tell you everything is wonderful on their end and try to find something else in you your system to blame it on. Unless they have a rock-solid explanation (they won't), don't change a thing. They'll figure out their problem in a week or so and fix it.

Everyone in my building is having problems. (I'm in Gowanus on 3rd Ave.) My neighbor already called in and TWC is blaming bad distribution boxes around our area. They will be "trying" to upgrade them soon, but of course they say that no one is ever around to give them access to the backyards to check things out.

If I keep getting unwatchable recordings of 24 and Lost, someone over there is gonna get it.
