Good Pho in Park Slope?

Does anybody know of a place that has good pho? My roommate recommended Me Kong for Vietnamese food, but the closest thing to pho on their menu looks a bit less-than-authentic?

There's a place on 4th Ave by the Brooklyn Century 21 dept store that's pretty good...that's 87th St, Bay Ridge, right outside the train stop. Not the big noodle/dumpling place on the corner, but midblock on that same side of the avenue.

Sunset Park, 8th Ave in the 40s and 50s is also possible; there's certainly good Vietnamese restuarants. I haven't had pho at any particular place. Too addicted to bahn mi . . .

I think I've been to that place, but I think it's on 4th ave near 86th St, right outside the R train stop. I think the place is called Pho Tay Ho. If that's the place, I thought it was good, but I didn't get the pho.

Is there any Vietnamese restaurant at all in Park Slope? The only one I knew about closed years and years ago (it used to be where Miracle Grill is now).

sunset park on 8 ave between 60 and 50th st have alot of them. or come to ave u between hmm dont remember what has a lot of them. bay ridge one sucks !!

walk to 7th ave and flatbush. get on the Q. get out at canal. walk south. eat pho.

there is only one good one in china town and i forgot what st it is on .

Mekong purports to be Vietnamese, but it isn't what I would call "real" Vietnamese. It's pricey and the service is spotty. Their pho is really sub-par. However, they have great calamari and fried whole snapper.

The easiest way to get good pho is to hop on the R train to Canal Street and head for
Nha Trang Centre . I'm a pho addict and theirs is sublime and cheap. They also have superb avocado milkshakes.

Do they have bang xeo, those shrimp filled rice flour crepes that look like very yellow omelettes? The excellent Vietnamese restaurant I used to haunt back in Tennessee had those, but I've not found them here. Apparently it's a southern Vietnamese specialty.

Ba Xuyen, the one at Eight Ave and 43rd St has lots of small dishes and snack foods on the side, but I'm not familiar with that particular one. I often get spring and summer rolls there. Anyway, it's very possible...
