Where can I get good bottled ginger ale in the Slope? Neither Schweppes nor Canada Dry do it for me. Thx.

Smaller bottles (Reeds, Fentimans) can be had at D'vine Taste on 7th Ave.(among many other places). Also you can often find the Jamaica Ginger Beer at almost any grocery - has quite the kick, but it isn't all gourmet-y. I know for sure they have it at the Key Foods on 7th ave.

Reed's is good and available pretty widely, the Ass on Union and 5th has it for example. If you go outside the slope to TJ's, they've got Reed's cheaper than most other places at $3.50 / 4

Also Bierkraft should have a pretty wide selection if you want to branch out.

you could try Ginger Beer if you're looking for a real ginger kick. Trader Joes is my go to for it.

    Subject: Looking for real ginger?

I saw all the posts about looking for something better than Ginger Ale and would like to recommend my product ELIXIR G Ginger Mix. It is an all natural ginger extract that you would mix with club soda or lemon lime soda. You control the amount of real ginger added. This way you can make it as spicy as you like.

Check out our website for more product info. www.elixirg.com - you can also google us to see what other people are saying about the mix.

    Thanks for your time,
    Aron

make your own. there are recipes all over the internet. it's easy, it doesn't require anything fancy, it's cheap, no waste from a bunch of bottles, and you can make it as strong as you like.

    I've made my own by

chopping up and simmering some fresh ginger, then straining and using the liquid along with some simple syrup and seltzer

    yum yum

I also try and bring back several cases of Vernors when I go out to Ohio

Bought a brand at the 5th Av Key Food called GUS (grown-up soda). Pretty good - dry, not too sweet. Also got a bottle of Boylan at Union Market. Haven't tried that one yet.

I might make my own one of these days... thx for suggestions!
