Moving Company Recommendations

Hey,

Just wondering if anyone here has had any experience with "A Professional Movers". They seem to be insured but can't find any more info beyond that.

I'm moving the contents of my 1-bedroom apartment so it's not a huge amount, but I do want to make sure I get reliable, experienced movers.

Anyone have any recommendations beyond this?

Just searched to find out about them.

Unless I have the wrong company info, they are based up in Bergen County, NJ.

Any particular reason not to use a Brooklyn-based company (that isn't located an hour away)?

At this point, they're the cheapest, even if you include the charge for them to get back to base.

My move's actually from Manhattan to Greenpoint, but that shouldn't make me more inclined to use a NJ-based company.

I would prefer going local but the big apples, wizard of oz's et al.. have all been over the $500 mark, some as high as $600+. Ridiculous for a small apartment with elevator access to a first floor 3 miles away.

Hi, here are a couple good discussions we've had in the past. You can search this site for movers too, there are more threads.

Personally I used "movers not shakers" and they were great.
