Lonelyville??

What's the latest with Lonelyville? They clearly went out of business but still seem to have their sign up and doors closed. Is the owner truely better off holding onto the place than sell to another retail option?

It seems to be a great location across from the park with Uncle Louie G's drawing crowds (and screaming kids) right past its doors. I'm thinking another cafe needs to take its place. Benne's strategically tried to jump into the "Italian Cafe" space as Lonelyville went out of business, however, being a pizza joint all seemed too contrived.

I know Brooklyn has it's independant culture, but what about a Starbucks??

How recently was it closed anyway? I was wondering if the closing was temporary since the first time I passed the cafe by.

its been a while . .at least a year...i heard there was a potential buyer who was going to open up a burger joint..but that deal fell through...even in this economy i find it odd that the building/business hasn't sold..unless the owner has decided to not sell (or something wrong with the property??)

anyway..all hearsay & speculation, so anyone with concrete info would be appreciated..

I suspect the foot traffic wouldn't be enough for Starbucks to want to go in there. Just a thought.

noticed there is now a "Storefront for Rent" sign out front
and seems like people are living in the apartments above

hope something pops up soon..it was a sad loss
