random travel question

need to travel from Brooklyn to Maryland either 12/25 or 1/1. Both are Fridays. Which day would I encounter less traffic?

Christmas Day is a fairly light travel day... relatively speaking. If you don't celebrate this holiday, it would probably be worth waiting until noon or a little later to leave. Most will have done their day-of travel by then.... the rest of Xmas weekend will probably be horrible.

I can't think 1/1 is a traveling day for many. Mostly hung over, it's sort of in the middle of a long weekend.

I'd say 1/1. People travel for Christmas dinner, but I think most people are in on New Year's Day.

I'd say 1/1 because it's a Friday so most people had the day off and should already be away for their weekends that started on Thursday 12/31

Both days are pretty light travel days. I thinks it's a draw.
