Lefferts Hotel

Anyone know the story about the hotel on Lefferts at Classon? We walked past recently and saw an official notice that everyone was being evicted, but there are still lights on, including the big phone number on the roof.

It was a hot-sheet, flophouse hotel run into the ground that attracted a bad crowd.

I seem to recall much discussion of it on Brownstoner a number of years back.

An eviction notice would mean the landlord is expecting to reclaim the building from delinquent tenants, who are still running a hotel?

That could be interesting. After the police raid and probation a couple of years ago, there wasn't much of a chance for this place to stay afloat.
