There is a big site advertising sublets and I would appreciate any experiences, including if anyone negotiated from a distance, with good results.

Also if I sell everything before moving basically and start over, do ya'll have garage sales? Stoop sales? This seems the most economical, rather than renting a u-haul one way.

Thank you,

Bellaja

if you have cash goto 86 st in bensonhurst and there are alot of small furniture stores where you can haggle with prices. from my experince most use furniture is over price! i have no idea about sublets and stoop and garage sales depends on the persons selling hehe.

I would be careful with sublets - some people do not realize they are not allowed to sublet and it can really screw you in the end. As far as used furniture - we have a few Salvation Army/Good Will type places but its the luck of the draw there. There are a lot of small furiture stores who sell complete sets for very reasonable prices and there is also a Rent A Center here. This is the season for lots of stoop/garage sales also you should check out Craigs List.
