It seems to me that there are fewer pigeons around lately. I am not complaining. I am very happy about it. I am wondering if anyone else has noticed this? Is Pigeon Pie catching on?

I noticed, too, and assumed the red tailed hawks in the area have been thinning out the population. At least that's what I hope is happening.

They walk around in your yard?
We've always wondered about the millions of pigeons in PS and why they don't land in our yard. See 'em flying overhead. Plenty of food and water to be had. Not complaining though... just curious.

they don't land in my yard when the cats are there, but sometimes they do land in my yard if they think the coast is clear. They are all over my neighbor's house - they perch on the second floor windows in the back and drive the tenant crazy

The pigeon landings in are yard have ended. They were seen about a month ago.. pecking at the ground . There was some thing that they were interested in at that point. perhaps some special seed or something. I have not seen them do it now.

I still hate Pigeons and am not interested in their quirky nature!!!

I have raccoons now. Two nights this week - now I have 2 of them. They are waking me up at night and scaring the shit out of me. It's like Wild Kingdom here. Maybe they'll scare the pigeons off

Yikes. Back when I lived in beautiful Mount Vernon, Westchester, a raccoon broke into my apartment once by coming down the fire escape. He tore through the screen, walked over my counter and through the sink, and ate my pop tarts! Animal control was asleep and the cops laughed at us, so we had to poke him out the window with a long broomstick. Terrifying.

^that's what I thought, too. It's weird AND it's pissing me off. I don't like that they are so bold - they won't leave with a flashlight in their face or me banging on the window.

I had a family of raccoons living on my roof and accessing it through my fire escape where they left me presents(yikes). I made it difficult for them to access my fire escape from the perch they were using and presto, they are gone, Although it took an awful lot of brainstorming in how to go about blocking their entrance. As well as figuring out how they got to the fire escape in the 1st place. They are crafty.

OK folks I found where some of the pigeons are living. They have a floor through apartment in the "haunted" house on the corner of PPW and 6th Street. Most of the top floor windows are either broken or wide open. Today I saw several pigeons flying in.
