Need some advice on who to bring my car to for maintenance

Hi! My boyfriend and I haven't been to a mechanic since we moved to Brooklyn, so if anyone can give us a suggestion on a good place to go, I'd appreciate it. Nothing big, just an oil change, fixing a tire seal, etc.

Never mind, got a reply on a different site. I think it's really funny how clear the title of this post was, and yet more than 10 people read it and gave no answer. Like, why would you bother reading this post at all if you didn't want to reply? I just think it's amusing. Thanks anyway lol.

Perhaps somewhere along the line you've failed to grasp that sites like Yahoo, Google and countless others around the globe regularly crawl the web (every few minutes, based on this site's logs...) to index things and track ads?

Why assume all 10 ( lol ) hits were human? (aside from your own, of course...)

You've endeared yourself. Please, ask for more free advice.

Also... I have to say, in addition to your endearing comments, what you need are hardly things that need recommendations. Oil change and tires?! Oh, I'm going to make sure you have the best mechanic possible. Neither of these things require a mechanic...

By the way -- why don't you share the results of your search TWENTY minutes later.

Oh yeah -- and maybe people intended on giving you information and realized you needed a friggin' oil change....

I wonder if having only 9 posts means that Daydream Believer has only read 9 (or less) threads on Brooklynian. Hmmmm.....

I'd also add that all this person needed to do was a search of these very forums, a la simply entering "mechanic" in the search box at the top of the page and they would have saved 18 of their precious 20 minutes for their "emergency" oil change:

But why bother benefitting immediately from all prior discussion and collective knowledge accumulated to-date.

We might wonder why the first post was "Won't You Be My Neighbor?"

A lot of honest and welcoming responses were given. Sorry we weren't fast enough at finding an oil change for you.
A deep seated hostility combined with chronic disappointment with everyone must of given Daydream Believer a chuckle when they picked their handle.

Now wait just a dog-gone minute...

I thought those were requisites for this site.

Fair enough. As to the rest, I don't really have a defense lol. Not that I'll ever feel the need to, really. Thanks to those who actually did PM me a couple places, though :-).
