Facebook App and Brooklynian
whyfi
Does anyone know how to silence (or compress ie "show 27 other similar posts") the Brooklynian activity on the Facebook iPhone app? The Brooklynian posts are pushing out all of the other news feeds items making the app close to useless.

whatchuwantApologies for doing it, DH, but really- the updates are out of control. There's just too many of them and honestly I don't see the point.... -
pituWe have an App? Srsly?
Here's how I use the site on my phone:
I opened (signed in, in Safari, on iPhone) Posts Since Your Last Visit, and hit Add To Home Screen to make a New Brooklynian button. -

No, its the Facebook app. But if you're "friends" with Brooklynian as many of us are, then there are posts on Facebook of the posts on Brooklynian. Doubling up. Clogging up. IMO.

dailyheightsI honestly have no idea what this is about. I set up a brooklynian page a while back but I don't actively send out updates?? I'll look into it. -
dailyheightsOK, so at one point, the Facebook page was showing an RSS feed of EVERY SINGLE COMMENT posted to Brooklynian.
I changed it so that only "hot posts" (those with a bunch of comments in a short time) show up as updates. This is similar to the twitter.com/brooklynian feed.
Does it work OK now on the Facebook App? Suppose only time will tell... -

It's a phone issue with every app- Farmville, Mafia Wars, etc. On Facebook you can "hide" these apps, BUT they will show on the Facebook app on your phone. So, the only choice you have is to block that person who plays Farmville all day (which is annoying, cause generally I love these people, I just don't CARE about how they found a lonely cow on their farm). So- until they fix the phone app, Farmville stays.

Maybe the changes you made will be better. Sounds like it should...
