Wood in garbage...recycling into furniture

Hi,

I just moved to the neighborhood and I'm always on the lookout for old wooden beams or molding to turn into furniture, especially farm tables.

If anyone has seen any dumptsters with old wood or has some solid wood that you would like to get rid of, please let me know and I'll take it off your hands with the hope of turning it into something beautiful.

I can be reached at [email hidden] and 917.509.5852.

Thanks,
Gerald

    Thanks. I multitask as a web designer/cabinetmaker/reno.

I moved from Greenpoint to Windsor T....totally love it here.

There are a lot of old buildings around, but no dumpsters down by greenwood ave.

There are tons of old logs in the park, but they can't be removed....I already inquired with parks dept......

fantastic! there's a pretty constant supply in park slope...which I walk by with my dog and wish someone were diving on! I'm going to text you locations next time...does your phone accept pictures?

the apartment therapy scavenger folks sometimes tweet curbside nyc, but that's mostly furniture. similarly, stuff like doors would come up on brownstoner. but maybe you know that already...

thanks. my phone receives images...iphone.....gets sms pics too now.

thanks for the tips on apt. therapy and brownstoner...will investigate

Old beams/moldings are great. Newer woods tend to have chemicals....VOC's ...no good.

    Thanks,
