So I find that suddenly the Brooklynian site is blocked at work. Which normally only happens with pornographic or gambling sites. So what did you people do to piss off the IT people?!?

It's possible that they've seen the number of page visits by you and decided that you were wasting too much time surfing. Oh well, that's what proxies are for.

A lot of work places are blocking social networking sites, particularly ones that have no possible work use. Our office decided that LinkedIn would be our networking site and blocked facebook. All dating sites are also blocked. We tend to take a look at the top ten or twenty sites visited by employees and blocked the ones that are not work related. At one time the top site was a dating site, funny thing when we blocked it nobody complained.

It was probably the alien anal probe discussion. But these things need to be aired!

I'll bet it was that ugly centerfold spread of Marty Markowitz that's going around and turning people off to Brooklyn forever.

Nah, I'm pretty sure if it were that, they'd have blocked midtowncomics.com long ago.

Clearly his IT department has been co-opted by the military industrial complex, that has argued (despite, consistent, sworn testimony of drunken fishermen throughout the nation over the last 60 years) that anal probing aliens somehow do not exist.

Are you suggesting that someone might question the credibility of drunken fishermen?

It's probably because they've noticed that we've got a bunch of potty mouthed motherfuckers 'round here.

My employer blocks Brooklynian because it can be used for communications (duh!). They don't like communications that they can't monitor easily. They also block e-mail (other than their own), social networking, any site that allows documents to be uploaded or downloaded, and porn. Alien anal probes, however, are not only allowed, but we are encouraged to have one every day.
