Subject: What's the ticket cost for ASS violations?

Just saw that they are currently not suspended for tomorrow. I'm considering just leaving the car there, biting the bullet and paying the ticket. Rather than trying to play the parking game amidst all this snow. Anyone know?

The ticket for not moving your car for alternate is $45, which you can easily get reduced to $32 by just clicking a couple of links

keep in mind that the city CAN tow you for this (it doesnt happen often but I've seen it happen!) if thats the case, its $45 plus $180 to get your car out.

It actually sort of annoys me that they DO suspend alternate side parking.... imagine if they took the opportunity to PLOW the parking spots? Imagine?!

ASS is suspended on Wed for Ash Wed, so I just got a good Wed spot and don't have to move for 9 days.

The City doesn't announce ASS, if applicable, until 4pm the day before ASS takes effect. Call 311 around 3pm & 4pm and see if you'll be okay. I have a feeling it will be voided tomorrow.

I would hope that with the impending snow headed our way tonite the idiot powers that be suspend street cleaning. Although they predict 1 to 3 inches of snow it is still a hassle and adds to the crap already on the ground. Not like they are gonna bring out the street sweepers anyway.

The amazing thing is, working in the city, you would never think it had snowed. They do a fantastic job removing snow there, but leave it to pile up here in Brooklyn...

they so rarely tow you for not moving for alternate, that I usually take the chance. If you have other outstanding tickets though, I wouldn't do it

    Subject: ASS tickets

They were towing this morning so that those of you who never moved your cars can now allow the streets to be plowed so more people can park

I wish they would have plowed by me. Everybody moved (except one car) and they didn't plow or do anything. It would have been great to get some of the snow off the street to allow for more parking.

Patently ridiculous that ASS was not suspended today. The streets are a mess, driving is treacherous, and to make matters worse, people are doing the whole double parking tango, making the streets practically impassable in many cases.

I was all for it if it meant that they would then plow the vacant side of the street to improve the whole situation, but they did not. So I put the car in a garage this morning, and when my wife took it out to repark, she had to reverse in over snow piles and drifts and is lucky she did not get in an accident or get stuck.

I thought Bloomberg had learned his lesson with that whole ice storm ASS non suspension from a couple of years back, but apparently not.

    Grrr.

You really thought they would plow the streets since they had alternate today? LOL!

No, Bloomberg just wants more money, that is why there was alternate today! Why would they plow the streets and make parking easier? They haven't even picked up the recycling from last week yet!
