My favorite place to go to get a really really REALLY nice present for someone.

Where on 5th was this place?

LTS, it was on 5th near President, the east side of the street.

thx OQ, but what I liked was (is!) the location.
There's other shops - in Williamsburg or Manhattan or online - that carry cutting edge design housewares, but none that I walk by every day with my dog!

...and soon nobody can go in there for a last minute present for me...

their note basically said "we arent making money here, so we are cutting losses and staying in Manhattan"

Well, duh on me! I walk by that place all the time going to the gym, noticed it last night! Never shopped in there, but have gone in a few times just to look.

good riddance. i never needed their $500.00 ikea lookin furniture or their overpriced home decor. as much as i hate to see stores close, it's rare that they are shops that i actually felt comfortable in. now if only moss in nyc would close. hate those self designated fabulous men and their lack of manners. NO MATTER TO ME!

I guess it *does* matter, cause when dw438 and Chipster get married (yes, TO EACH OTHER), I'll have to get them something tacky from the remaining gifty housewares place...

All I can say:

Not for me so I won't miss them but you can order from their website if you don't want to go into the city.
