Hey, I am heading to NYC for 4 months and arriving on June 7th. My friends is arriving on the 30th so I need a place for about 3 weeks to stay while I wait for him to arrive. We are then gonna just look for a place to share for the following 3 months. I'm thinking of staying in a private hostel for a few weeks since I am on my own it would be good for meeting people. I saw a hostel in Williamsburg on craigslist for $120 per week which looks nice. Just wondering are there many places like this around Williamsburg and has anybody any tips or advice?

Thanks

I don't know of many hostels in WIlliamsburg but I would also check out the Greenpoint YMCA-the address is 99 Meserole Avenue.

    You should check out craigslist.

    Either Sublets and Temp Housing:

    or Vacation Rentals:

You can probably find something that is nicer and cheaper than a youth hostel with a kitchen you can cook in.

I've heard this place is pretty good:

And this one is better located but I don't know anything else about it.

    Good luck!

There's also a hostel in Park Slope that is mainly only for European/international and backpacking groups (PM me and I can send you the info)
