Yesterday, I saw the restaurant equipment being carted off. Guess they couldn't make it.

Only went there once. The food was barely okay and a stupid glass of wine was nine bucks. Not surprised.

The Spousal Unit and I were going over to Ellis for a bit of socializing with the staff (some of whom we knew from Bar BQ) last night, and ran into a couple of them standing outside of South*. We chatted a bit. None of them were informed: they only found out when the bar manager stopped by yesterday to drop his bike off, and saw the place being gutted.

Gutless of Seth Ellis not to even text his employees, I have to say.

I found the food decent most of the time, though excessively salty, but I'd wondered about the menu being cut so drastically a month or so ago. I guess they weren't making it as a restaurant proper.

    * South, I will observe, is a pleasant place, with the music not too loud, a good beer selection, and Paul, the bartender, is a nice guy. And the Red Hook Beef Jerky is excellent: a touch of spice, and not sweet. Must go back for more.
