Place to get a dogs nails trimmed

Looking for a good place in south slope to get my dogs nailed trimmed.

The sidewalk does an excellent job, if you walk him or her enough.

No amount of walking (we spend most of our walks in the park, so only 1-3 miles a day is on the sidewalk) seems to wear down my dog's nails.

When the floors start to suffer I've taken him to Paws in Paradise on 5th and 8th. It's not that south, but I can't even think of any places that might do this farther south, other than possibly Animal Kind on 7th Ave.

True, the park doesn't do quite as good a job. I'd go there more if people followed leash laws from 9am - 9pm. But since I work with some dogs who have aggression problems (although they are with dogs who are calm and help set them right), I have to yield to the law-breakers when with them.

It would pay for itself in a few uses, no? Or do you think your dog won't love you anymore if you make their paws vibrate? :roll:

Go to a hardware store and by a Dremeil. It's like a rotary type small hand sized sander the same as the one in the post above, but much more durable. This way there's no cutting the nail to the quick and takes less than a 1/2 minute or so per nail. And you'll save lots of money in the end by doing it yourself.
One of our dogs was terrified of the nail clippers but doesn't mind this one bit. So it's a win-win for you all.

Oh, before you start, let the dog smell it and rub it around the dogs face and body to let it know this won't hurt them. Maybe even have a treat or two ready to give when you do each paw so it views having it's feet done as a positive experinece.

We use a guillotine style trimmer... very quick... takes 30 seconds to do all the dew claws and less than 5 min to do all the claws.... and it has styptic powder in the handle just in case you cut the quick

i'd really recommend learning to do this yourself as it's quick, dirt cheap, and trains your dog to be handled so vet visits become much easier

just be sure to reward your dog thoroughly when you do it
