Dog-friendly bars?

My husband and Louie like to take nightly walks to the pub (they're both English; it's in their blood). We're located in Boerum Hill/Downtown Brooklyn. We already know about Bar Great Harry and Brooklyn Inn, which are great, but now that the weather is good, we're looking for a bar with outdoor space within 1/2 - 3/4 mile from our location at State and Nevins. Bar Tabac is not dog-friendly. Pacifico used to be (somewhat), but now they won't even let you sit on the outside bench with a dog.

Can anyone recommend a dog-friendly bar in Boerum Hill,Carroll Gardens, Fort Greene or the North Slope (4th-5th Avenue) with outdoor space?

Try 4th Avenue Pub, my friends take their pup Pixle to 4th Avenue Pub for the outdoor space and beer selection. Apparently it's tres dog friendly.

We also like to go to dog friendly bars. Pacific Standard on 4th avenue is a cool spot--great microbrew selection and cocktails, all decently priced. If you want to hang out outdoors, the Gate on 5th avenue in PS is a good spot. Rope on Myrtle used to be dog friendly (and have a backyard), but not sure anymore (call and check). You can sit outside with your dog at some spots on DeKalb Ave in FG, such as Brooklyn Public House and Chez Oskar.

Great suggestions, thanks! Pacific Standard and 4th Avenue Pub are near us, which is great since Louie is an English Bulldog and doesn't like long walks.

Franklin Park now prohibits dogs, even in its outdoor area.

    Dogs used to be allowed.

No more Franklin Bark? Drats. Was really looking forward to that.

Yea, we were there last night. I inferred that as a result of the Dutch Boy Burgers addition, the outdoor area of Franklin Park was deemed by DOH to be part of the restaurant's seating area ...so dogs were banned.

Yes, the search for a nearby place where I can simulanteously eat a burger, pet my dog, and drink a beer goes on....

Dress him in bunting and push him in a stroller and your problems are solved.

If anyone asks about your rather hairy, drooling baby just feign offense and righteous indignation, works every time 'round here.

    :)
