Attack on Sterling Pl. btw. Underhill and Vanderbilt

I'm just putting this out here as a warning. I didn't witness anything, but I came upon a woman who, apparently, had just been jumped on Sterling Place between Underhill and Vanderbilt about 9:00 pm tonight.

From what I heard her describe to the police, it was a group of three young teens (under 15), two girls and a boy, each black, each about five feet tall. They came up behind her and followed her for a few houselengths, talking loudly. Then one of them grabbed her from behind by the neck and the other two grabbed her bags. They took off down Butler Place and Plaza toward the park.

This wasn't a case of this woman listening to her iPod or talking on the phone while these kids surprised her. She knew they were there and had been behind her for a few moments. She said that she didn't think that a few kids that age would be a threat.

I and two other people helped her call the police and waited with her until the cops showed. Two cruisers were there within minutes. Kudos, 77th.

I live right there, and I didn't hear anything.
