I looked at a great renovated Brownstone apt. right across the street from Gowanus Houses. During the day, seems like a quiet, clean area - can anyone tell me what they thing about block? I'm single middled aged writer chick who will be walking home at night alone...

I grew up on Wyckoff bet. Bond and Nevins and that block has always been considered "the better part of the projects" Not sure how it is now but it wasn't so bad. I think walking along Hoyt (from Wyckoff to Douglass) isn't so bad during the day but in the late evening I would avoid it - but just like every part of Brooklyn I suggest a cab after a certain hour. Good luck and enjoy!!

Thanks Stacey, I'm gonna go for it and yes, take a cab late at night!
