Buka

I was out wandering Brooklyn in this beautiful weather, and walked past a place called Buka. They were advertising as "open..but soft". (weird way to put it, but ok) It was a huge space and had a back yard. Mostly food I couldn't eat on the entree list (meat-based meals) but the space was gorgeous. It was on Fulton between Cambridge and St James.

They just opened and have a similar menu to Joloff Restaurant. Nice space, I wish them well.

    There's no back yard.

I ate there last week, I wish them well, I would love to see more restaurants and shops on Fulton Street, but the food is bad. The goat stew was tough (how do you cook stew meat so it's tough?). the sauce was spicy hot, the rice was spicy hot, and that was it. No interesting flavors, the soda and the service was luke warm and the seats were as hard as the goat meat. Hope it improves.

Bummer -- they must have just had the back door open when I was walking past then. It seemed to be mostly family and friends of the owners.
