Tejada Market Shuttered

Tejada Market on the corner of Myrtle & Clinton had its roll shutters down at 5 o'clock this afternoon and there's a "Retail Space For Lease" sign hanging on the awning.

I was surprised to see that. Especially after the former Obama deli closed so quickly. I assumed it was because they couldn't compete with Tejada but maybe not.

Did the opening of Mr. Coco across the street have that much of an impact on Tejada's business or was it something more than that?

Actually, Tejada downsized and moved to the Obama deli space! Now their old corner lot is ripe for a new addition to the 'hood. Tejada hasn't replaced their awning (still Obama) but it is definitely them. I'm not sure if they're doing their hot food though.
