What type of food do you want? Today being Cinco de Mayo, you can get some Mexican food on 5th Ave. Taqueria DF on 5th and 22nd (?) is ok....not the best, but just a few blocks from the entrance.

I am up for all suggestions. I forgot today was CInco de Mayo. Tacos might be a nice treat!

El Rincon at 5th avenue and 19th street is excellent!

Oh, I like El Rincon! But it's 6 blocks or so. Not sure how close you want to be

Lots of good pizza in the neighborhood. For by the slice, Luigi's is great (5th ave. and I think 20th St.) and for fancy whole pie you can go to Public House (6th ave. & 21st St.) . The joint is pretty expensive, but their pies are really awesome. Also they're quick and have outdoor seating.

Damn, now i sound like work for them. Ok, here's a big con. They charge like $4.50 for soda. Also, no refills. Man, I got so ripped off there last time I went. Two gingerales for $9!! Redonk.

    Subject: Two recommendations

I enjoy Lot 2 and Korzo.

    I especially enjoy Lot 2 on 6th and ~20th.

Korzo is on 5th and ~20th street

not sure where the OP eventually went, but this thread inspired me to try out korzo's. food was better than expected (on par w. steinhoff), but UNLIMITED bloody mary's (or mimosas) for only $8 was fantastic.

am thai chili basil isn't far and is one of my favorites - very little/no seating though there is a little playground/park across the street
