Anyone have boxes?

I didn't know if this would go under classifieds or not, but I am moving in a month and wanted to know if anyone had any boxes lying around they were willing to part with (I know some people use Fresh Direct, and that seems to be a common complaint...)
Thanks

There's often a pile of moving boxes in our basement for recycling whenever someone moves into the building, on top of the usual sundry boxes being discarded. I imagine it's the same in the other large buildings. You could chat nicely to the doorfolk of the nearest large condo or coop about whether you could raid their cardboard recycling area.

I recently moved (and I do FreshDirect) and have at least six or seven I haven't taken out to recycle yet and will probably have two or three more by later on today, as I'm planning to unpack a little more today. PM me if you want me to hold onto 'em for you.

Also, liquor stores are great places to pick up sturdy, medium-sized boxes. When I'm moving I always just go in and tell them I'm moving and ask whether they cut up their boxes before recycling and what days they usually put them out on the curb, and if they're nice I also ask whether they'd be willing to save some for me. Worth a try!

Oh, I sent you and email, but I guess that I should note that many of our boxes are large-ish 14"h x 14"d x 24" w, or so...

Sooo... would you like me to hang onto the boxes I've got for you, or should I just go ahead and recycle 'em? If I haven't heard back by tomorrow night I'll go ahead and just recycle.

I have boxes that I'm trying to find a next home for!
I'm in Kensington ... boxes are expensive so if you have a way of picking
them up, it's worth it. I have lots of large, medium and dish size.

private message me if interested. thanks.

oh, just saw that you found boxes.

to other people who have boxes, try freecycling them to someone in your neighborhood. to find out more, go to www.freecycle.org or
    join : [email hidden]
and set yourself up on 'no mail' or 'digest.' better to reuse than recycle !

in case anyone else is looking for boxes right now, i saw a number (15? 20?) of nice boxes, collapsed and bundled by size, in front of a building on the north side of prospect, just west of the corner of underhill.

If you want to buy boxes, UHaul place at Atlantic & Flatbush is a good bet.

Be prepared for a slow line at busy truck rental times.

dont ever buy boxes. i never understood why my customers buy boxes from storage places. last time this lady was about to buy. i told her hold on a min. went dumpster diving lol tons of boxes at their storage garbage dump. also just goto any grocery store or any store that sells goods. they should have tons of boxes they are willing to give away for free.
