three-legged cat found, Prospect Ave btw 8th Av PPW

A very sweet, honey-colored kitty with three legs appeared in our apartment building on Prospect Avenue between 8th Ave and Prospect Park West this morning (Sunday, May 23). She (we think it's a she) has a black collar but no tags and seemed very affectionate, hungry and lost. If she's yours, please let us know!

My neighbor upstairs is looking after the cat, and as far as I know, no one has claimed it. But she seems pretty attached to it, so hopefully it has found a new home!

Kitty has been reunited with its owner, and is happily living around the corner. However, it has returned to our building for a visit (it gets in through a crack in the basement window). Its name and phone number are printed on the inside of its collar. Thanks to all who were worried, and please try to keep indoor-only cats, people!

Yay, kitty! It makes me sad when people let their cats wander the streets - especially one with 3 legs when cars are whipping down the street.
