yeah, i guess it's in gowanus, and maybe i'm behind the loop (again), but have y'all checked-out the bell house on 7th street near 2nd avenue? i went down to see peter wolf on friday night (may have been the best concert i've seen, ever. really.), and was verrrry impressed with the place. the bar area was spacious and the theater (for lack of a better word) was fantastic. i've never had any reason to walk down in that area, so the venue was new to me.. but i'll definitely go back.

it's been there for over a year and does very well. It gets name acts mostly on the indie circuit. It is owned by the Union Hall folks, but it is 180 degrees different than that bar.

Love it. I love getting to see bands I like that play that size space (Bowery or Webster Hall level bands) so close to home and I like the peninsula stage, which allows more people to get close if they want. One of my favorite venues.

Prezst, I used to work in Boston radio back in the day and my path used to cross with Peter Wolf's on an occasional basis. He's a good guy and he used to put on a great show back then. I had heard he was touring but I had no idea he was playing The Bell House right down the street, so to speak. I'm glad you got to see such a great show and sorry I missed it.
