Obit for Vera, the Kurdish librarian

The Kurdish Library is/was in the beautiful brownstone on the corner of Underhill and Park, and Vera herself was something of a Prospect Heights institution.

How sad - I just learned about her when I posted recently asking about the fate of the library. Quite an amazing lady.

Vera had told me before she left that her son had sold the building out from under her and against her wishes. Broke her heart.
Very sad.
She was a great lady, I will miss her.
