I am the proud owner of a three-legged cat.
Her vet, when I found her, was a vet in murray hill because they are connected to the mayor's alliance for animals.

(I found her in my friends car, under the hood at about 6 weeks old)

Now she is fully healed and I need to set up a vet in Brooklyn. Any recommendations?

I live Prospect Heights.

Thanks in Advance.

Really? Good to hear. I will check them out. May I ask why you like them?

And thank you for letting me know about them.

    we use the local vet:

We find them pretty reasonable and concerned. Some neighbors think they're too expensive but that hasn't been our experience so far

Prospect Park Animal Clinic on PPW and 5th St. in Park Slope. I have seen all 3 vets there (Silverman, Quim and Halloway) and they are all caring and competent. They don't push extra shots, procedures or product and they return phone calls. Their vet techs quite obviously care for animals as well. My 2 cats go there. They also have a few "store cats" wandering around - one who has special needs.

Stay way far away from 5th Ave. Cat Clinic.

I have a dog, we I've been happy with PPAC (that flexi mentioned). I really appreciate that they haven't pushed shots (only a few are required in NY, but some vets really push the optional vaccines) or procedures (like tooth cleaning), but are happy to discuss it with me.

If it were closer, I would also try Hope since many friends have had great experiences there with very sick pets.

Park Slope Vets on 5th ave between 7th and 8th streets. Incredible diagnosticians if anything is wrong.

Thank you for all the insight in where to bring my cat here in Brooklyn.
I will continue the research and certainly check those places out.

I went to Prospect Heights Animal Hospital yesterday for the first time and was thoroughly impressed. I would highly recommend them. I was a vet tech in a prior life and am very picky when it comes to vets. I could not have been more pleased with the vet and veterinary staff. A very positive experience. Here is their info:

There's lots of different opinions on vets - pros and cons. But I have never heard anything good about the 5th Avenue Cat Clinic - not just from these boards but from people in general.

I second Park Slope Vet Care (5th Ave between 7th & 8th). Dr. Maddon is the best diagnostician around and he is so good with animals and genuinely loves them.

I go to 5th avenue cat clinic, but thinking about switching. Though some of the docter is really nice, I have had a bad experience with attitude of a docter and they are expensive.
