What are all those explosions? Fireworks? Not thunder.

    That's right - Buena Vista in Prospect Park. Yeah it was all a bit odd to hear because it wasn't thunder and I couldn't think of a reason for fireworks until next week.

    Gotta love Twitter. I found out that there are fireworks over the Stature of Liberty / Hudson River (getting conflicting locations).

    Saw some fireworks near the Statue of Liberty around 9:45PM from the F train at Smith & 9th. Sound travels well over the Slope. There are many times I can hear the Staten Island Ferry blowing its horn leaving the Whitehall street terminal late at night (I'm located less than block away from Bartel-Pritchard Square).
