Anyone else out there experienced flaky service? My modem keeps booting me off and service is slower than Ive ever seen it. I am also unable to connect to my email accounts at verizon.net. Anyone?

Yep, I'm right there with you. I got a new modem with wireless router from them after a month and a half of drama. They came three times to fix issues "at the pole" and now I get ten minutes of internet access before I get booted off.

    Verizon sucks big doody balls...

    Same here.

VZ responded to online service requests, claimed they checked and fixed their outside lines.

Our landline is/was also very noisy.

Think it's a way to get us prep'd to switch to FIOS when/if it arrives???

my VZ DSL (center slope) has been fine for years (knock on wood), not especially fast but adequate

We have two lines. Our landline is fine, the DSL dedicated line is fucked to hell.

SO has a friend that is a Verizon technician. She suggested that we 1) ask for a "dry loop" for our DSL line (no dial tone on the line) 2) continue to call and put in service requests and make tech support calls for internet to document everything, 3) call and ask for credits to our bill as the billing folks are still domestic and will actually try to resolve your problems 4) contact PSC if it goes on for more than a couple of weeks.

Oh, and we're over in CH, so I have no FIOS hope in my lifetime.

I will say after a recent Verizon outage I was pleasantly surprised to discover that they automatically credited my bill for the outage days.
