Missing Orange Tabby

edited November -1 in Park Slope
My orange neutered male tabby snuck out last night (Wed. 6/30) around 10pm and did not come home for breakfast. He has a black collar and clear nail tips. He answers to Simoone but is generally shy around strangers. We live in South Slope, and he is probably somewhere between Prospect Park West and 8th Ave (East to West) and 11th and 13th Streets (North to South). Of course, he may have wandered slightly further afield, including into the Park. Please call 646-508-2975 if you see him. Thank you so much.

Lots of other people have posted here about lost cats and very often the cat was found on the same block where it lives, but in someone else's basement, etc. If you haven't already, you should heavily flyer your block and perhaps put a note on it asking neighbors (or ask them in person) to check their basements and yards.

Hope you get him home soon!

Thank you OpossumQueen. Yes, we've flyered the neighborhood - that was actually how I learned about this site. Thanks for the well-wishes ... please keep them coming.

Polly - I hope your kitty comes home. In the meantime, do you have a picture you can post? Instructions on posting can be found in the "Ask Brooklynian" forum.

    Please keep us posted

Thank you, I will. He's an all-orange tabby, fyi, so if you see ANYONE who fits that description, ANYWHERE in South Slope (I now believe he's wandered outside his usual haunts) I would appreciate it so much.

SIMOONE WAS FOUND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! A good Samaratine living several blocks away heard him screaming on his fire escape, went out and found one of our posters and called us! We feel so blessed - thanks to all of you for your genuine concern.

I was, but it still didn't work. Perhaps she has her settings locked down and you are more closely connected than I am (friend of friend) or something. Doesn't matter now because kitteh is home :D

Great news!!! Make sure you get a name tag on him (with contact info) and get him micro chipped. It's totally worth it.

Subject: Pollyingrid's Lost Orange Tabby--Happy Ending!

FOUND--on a fire-escape, quite far from home, next day. He was totally lost and a wonderful Park Sloper found him and went to the trouble to relocate the phone number he'd seen posted and Simoone was returned to my daughter and son-in-law. Thank you so much, Mr. Scott !! Your kindness will NOT be forgotten. And thanks to all of you who posted helpful notes of encouragement.

    Mom of Pollyingrid, the poster.
