there's a sign outside that says No Towel and Razor shaves? At least I though I read that. (The BF goes there, but only for haircuts)

the guy was nice, but no hot shave. used an electric razor and got the job done. better than biking to park slope, i guess.

A little late to the party, but there's an unlabeled barber shop two or three doors in from the northeast corner of Lincoln and Washington (same side of the street as Love Liquors) that does traditional hot foam shaves with straight razors. Have used them for this service numerous times over the years.

Place is run by an older West Indian gentleman, nice but quiet. There is always a group of guys in there, watching tv, playing games, etc. And there is usually always a customer in the chair, so be prepared to wait. In fact, the older gentleman that does all the work is very, very slow, so be prepared to wait a while. But it is a quality hair cut and quality shave, and it is inexpensive. It's definitely worth it. If you're white (as I am) you will get some odd looks the first few times you walk in, mostly from the guys hanging out, not from the actual barber. Buat after your first few visits, doesn't tend to happen anymore.

The sign in Benny's window reads "We Do *Hot* Towel Razor Shave" (visible on Google maps street view). But the wording of the sentence makes it easy to read "Not" if you look at it quickly.
