does anyone know if the memorial arch is ever open to the public to enter and climb? and if not, how does one go about getting a special entry or something... someday?

says some here, but not much:

i climbed the arch this past october, as part of open house new york, which you can read about here: http://www.ohny.org/ohny_website/start.html

there is a small theatre inside, so obviously you can go inside for shows, if you can figure out when/what they are....not sure how to go about that.

it was awesome, by the way. even on a grey and slightly rainy day, the view was marvelous. and it's crazy how much space there is inside that thing.

sorry i don't have more information, but i hope you do get to see it sometime.

This is the link for information about "Art in the Arch," which is held in the spring and fall every year, although the website says that it's closed until further notice. Maybe we'll have to wait until the next Open House New York in the fall.

There's a puppet lending library inside the arch, on the left side as you're walking to Park Slope. It should be open soon-ish. You can go there on Saturday and cruise around.
