Outrageously loud outdoor party / St. Johns Washington

Can anybody else in that region hear the insanely loud outdoor party going on behind an apartment on the northeast corner of St. Johns Place and Washington? It appears to be a child's birthday party and has been rattling our windows since 7:30, despite a 311 call. There was a similarly loud party on this block on July 4, but it's another thing entirely for it to be going on on a Monday night.

Maybe you should rectify the situation by posting something on a community blog.

The OP already called 311, and we've all already come to the understanding that a 911 call for a noise complaint would be a waste of time. What else do you suggest the OP do?

Sometimes people just need a place to vent.

That's how people roll around here. Double-paned windows make all the difference.

In DUMBO several of the nicer condo buildings have triple-paned windows to mitigate the bump, rattle and squeal sounds of the subway trains and BQE truck and trailer traffic.

For the right price, you too can have your very own isolation chamber.

Then blast your own music.

Not sure what to make of this. Here's the "resolution" as listed on the online version of the 311 complaint:

"The Police Department responded to the complaint but officers were unable to gain entry into the premises."

    Huh??

Perhaps that means everyone was in the backyard and no one answered the door. Frustrating, I know, but in that situation I don't know what else the officers could've done.

I heard the party, it was definitely a child's birthday party. And same place as the July 4 party (backyard of the building right next to the deli on the NE corner). Been pretty quiet there for years prior to this summer, but that place has a history of loud parties 10+ years ago. Guess now they're back.

Now that they're out of jail it's party time.

You should go to the party and have some fun!
