Perseids tonight
javamonkey
What are the chances of seeing anything from Prospect Park tonight. Nill? Just wondering if anyone has actually tried. Im inclined to think the city lights would just make this impossible, but wanted to check if anyone has actually seen a meteor shower in the city.

sadaramiwe went up to the park for one of these meteor showers years ago (2001 maybe?) at 4 AM and it was pretty good. Saw plenty of meteors. It was probably Nov or Dec and cold, but there were plenty of people up in the meadow. Not sure how this one is supposed to compare though. -
javamonkeyAaah...the Leonids. :-) Terrific, might give it a shot then. Thank you. -
javamonkeyCorrection on this. The Perseids will be viewable tomorrow (Thursday) night.....or more precisely, the darkest hour before dawn Fri.

nomadI assume all the rain clouds will block the view right? Bummer.
